POSITION PURPOSE:
This role is responsible for email campaign deployment & operations. This involves list segmentation, campaign performance, database & statistical analysis of loyalty, marketing and partner initiatives, ecommerce activity and online marketing campaigns as they relate to email.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Query databases and perform list segmentation for marketing, promotional and airline operational emails.
Work with design and campaign owners to design segments, test, deploy and monitor strategic and reoccurring email initiatives on strict timelines.
Assist various departments including marketing communications, loyalty, and pricing with recurrent and tactical email marketing campaign creation, analysis and reporting, with the objective of optimizing campaign profitability and success
Query consumer data sources (e.g., frequent flyer, web, and email reporting databases) to summarize consumer response and behavior from campaigns, ROI, and to steer future decision and/or better predict responses to future promotions/initiatives
Identify and share new opportunities to generate incremental revenue through on-line and interactive channels.
Recommend ideas of future campaigns (e.g., promotions, partnerships, products, customer segmentation, and cross-sell opportunities) to senior management
Track campaign results and measure success.
Track and prepare reports regarding email campaigns, ecommerce metrics, user profile and program subscription behavior (delivery success rate, email change of address, bounce-back, abuse, list health)
Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned within the marketing group
Liaise with email software vendor and our internal IT teams to ensure operational performance and uptime of applications and databases including some after-hours coordination
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics required; Graduate degree preferred
Ability to perform complex queries in Oracle 9i (or higher) and MS SQL
At least 3 years experience in Marketing, Planning, or other analytics business field
At least 1 year experience with enterprise class email systems including: List segmentation, deliverability and reporting.
Basic understanding of email marketing (deliverability, best practices, CAN-SPAM, etc.
Knowledge of DTS/SSIS, SAS, basic database administration and writing macros in Excel and Access preferred
Experience with web analytics applications and HTML experience preferred
Strong analytical capability, including application of quantitative reasoning to resolve complex problems using available databases
Experience obtaining, analyzing, and presenting project results
Demonstrated ability to work independently, additional hours when necessary, and perform effectively under pressure
Experience as part of a team/group putting forth recommendations
Detail-oriented
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities/projects on strict deadlines with minimal supervision/direction
Ability to negotiate project priorities with several internal clients
Strong time management skills
Knowledge of marketing theories and general eCommerce practices
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Experience with Toad for Oracle a plus
Knowledge of complex email programs with a fortunate 500 company a plus
Airline or travel industry knowledge a plus
